FEES AND PAYMENT

In order to maintain high quality care for our patients, PACES NM is no longer an in-network insurance provider.  We will continue to be an out-of-network provider, however, with most PPO Plans for all insurance providers.  You are responsible for paying for the evaluation, but afterward we will provide you with a detailed invoice to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Use this link for questions to ask your insurance provider about your coverage for out-of-network benefits.

Non-taxed funds from Health Savings Accounts or Flex Spending Accounts can also be used toward most testing services not covered by insurance.  

 

REFERRALS
PACES New Mexico is not an in-network insurance provider for any network or Medicaid provider.  We do not need a formal referral from your child's PCP or pediatrician to schedule an appointment.

SELF PAY

A comprehensive evaluation is typically completed with 3-5 hours of direct testing with your child, a parent interview with you before they come in to go over their history, an hour long feedback session afterward, and a detailed written report that is sent to you within 7-10 days of the testing day. 

 

The total cost for neuropsychological testing for all these components is typically between $1875-$2475.  These costs are typical for neuropsychological testing as it is a highly specialized assessment.  Testing only needs to be conducted once, however, to provide information that can help your child access services for up to 3 years.

Testing includes:

• Initial diagnostic interview with parent

• Gathering and reviewing information from teacher(s)

• Reviewing previous evaluation/IEP records, when applicable

• 3-5 hours of in-person testing (depending on your child’s age and the diagnostic questions you are hoping to have answered)

• 1-2 hours of scoring by clinician

• 1-hour feedback session with parent

• 3-6 hours of report writing, with a written report of all test findings and relevant recommendations sent a few weeks after testing

 

Once an appointment has been scheduled, a $100 nonrefundable scheduling fee is charged to hold the appointment.  The remainder is due the day of testing.
